Each Greenlight System field station is equipped with the GEMS-3000™, a multi-function, smart controller developed specifically for these critical data-gathering and communication functions:
Multi-Device Interface
The GEMS-3000 includes hardware connections (i.e., serial, USB, Ethernet) and a library of software interfaces enabling the user to select the correct communication interface to their sensor or device. The Greenlight System product team is continuously expanding the GEMS-3000 library to include more instrumentation and monitoring options.
Wireless Telemetry
The GEMS-3000 is the bridge between field measurement of environmental data and transmission of the data to the Greenlight centralized database. Ethernet radio modems are at each field stations and the base station, creating a dedicated and secure data network. (The GEMS-3000 interfaces to all measurement devices in a particular field station, so only a single radio modem is required in each station.)
Database Robustness
Each GEMS-3000 smart controller has an updated, database of measurements taken at its field station, providing an additional layer of robustness and data security remote from the Greenlight System centralized database. The GEMS-3000, in conjunction with the central database, also monitors the integrity of data transmission. In the case of an outages or failed transmission, the GEMS-3000 retransmits the data, as needed, until the central database is up to date and complete.
Remote Alarm Notification
The Greenlight System field stations can be equipped with warning lights to notify personnel of measured alarm conditions. These lights are externally mounted on the field enclosure and controlled by the GEMS 3000 software.
